As previously reported here, beginning on July 24, 2026, at 12:01 AM EST, the US Government through the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) will impose a new tariff on goods from 60 investigated countries, with most falling into one of two categories: 

• A 10% tariff on select goods from countries that attempted to enact forced labor prohibitions, but whose enforcement of these prohibitions was determined to be insufficient. This list includes:
  
  •  Argentina, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Canada, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the U.K, and Trinidad and Tobago. 
• A 12.5% tariff on those countries where USTR determined that there were no meaningful prohibitions or enforcement. 

In addition to these countries, the US is implementing a 10% flat rate on goods from the EU and Taiwan, and a 12.5% tariff on goods from Japan, South Korea, and Switzerland. This rate comes from a combination of most-favored-nation (MFN) duties and Section 301 tariffs. In both cases, if the goods' MFN is more than 10% or 12%, respectively, no additional duty is applied.
