The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has made preliminary determinations into the alleged dumping and subsidizing of unarmoured building cables (UBC) from the People's Republic of China.
The investigation began in March of 2026, and the determinations were made on July 29, 2026.
Provisional duties will now be payable on subject goods imported into Canada on or after July 29, 2026.
Typically, the subject goods are imported under the following tariff classification numbers:
But they may also be imported under the following, particularly if they are imported as conductors to be further processed into UBCs.
