The US Government has made the decision to postpone the implementation of 50% Section 338 tariffs on Canadian goods until August 22, 2026.
This three-day delay is a result of the US and Canada negotiating a new deal that, according to representatives from each government, is nearing finalization.
Details of this decision can be found here, in the proclamation issued by the US Government late in the evening of August 18. The response from the Canadian Government can be found here, in a statement by the Prime Minister.
