CITT Initiates Expiry Review Investigation Regarding Resumption of Potato Dumping

April 10, 2026

On April 1, 2026, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced the initiation of a five-year expiry review investigation regarding the dumping of certain whole potatoes exported from the US for use or consumption in BC.

The CBSA is investigating whether the expiry of the current antidumping order will result in the continuation or resumption of dumping.

To inform this decision, and as part of the expiry review, the CBSA has sent questionnaires to Canadian producers, importers, and exporters, and those who have not received a questionnaire and wish to submit their response may do so by contacting the CBSA SIMA Registry and Disclosure Unit at simaregistry-depotlmsi@cbsa-asfc.gc.ca

All responses must be in by May 11, 2026. The CBSA will make its determination by no later than August 28, 2026, and its Statement of Reasons will be released by September 11, 2026.

The notice, complete with details, can be found here.
